Have you seen this woman? Looks like she is 100% ready for a total solar eclipse! We lived in Portland, OR during last year’s solar eclipse (August 2017). And we watched it on the top floor patio of the Oakwood Pearl. There were snack tables and pitchers of orange juice lined up along the balcony. A man sitting in a lawn chair blasted “Black Hole Sun” from a speaker in his lap. Everyone was excited. I made a cereal box viewer that morning on the floor of our apartment. But one of our new neighbors at the party was kind enough to let me borrow these hip glasses instead. There are so few things that we can all come together on, but not this. This was one of those rare times where no one had to choose sides. All I remember is how everyone joined in and sat down. Everyone stopped and looked up to witness—to behold the sky.
